About Me
Morgan Markowitz, Birth Doula

My passion for birth work began with the pregnancy of my first son in 2012. After a well supported and deeply transformative birth, I became interested in learning more about and attending births myself. I became a birth doula in 2016 through Cappa and Birthing From Within.
From October 2021-23 I received hands on training as a student midwife in a homebirth practice. I have attended over 50 births at home, in the hospital and at birth centers.
I am CPR certified and am familiar with NRP and emergency protocols.

I always include some nutritious and delicious food to my clients, I love to nurture others with food! If you know me, you've tried my soup and sourdough. I am trained in Ayurvedic postpartum oil massage, specifically for draining lymph glands and promoting healing. I also am a certified Birthing From Within Birth story listener, offering specialized counseling sessions.

I enjoy bringing people together and am passionate about facilitating women's gatherings and birth classes. When I'm not engaging in birth work, I am the manager at Liv and Mimi's Play cafe and enjoy facilitating a fun and safe environment for parents, caregivers and children. It's especially rewarding to see my former clients again months or years after birth and watch their children grow.

I have a loving husband and two sons, ages 5 and 12, both born at home with midwives. My other interests include cooking, crafting, dancing, singing, playing music, swimming and enjoying nature.
